Safety & Risk Awareness
Skiing, snowboarding, and biking come with risks, but staying informed keeps the fun going. At Crabbe Mountain, safety is key—from helmet rules to terrain park tips. Know the risks, shred smart, and make every run your best!

- Always stay in control. You must be able to stop or avoid people or objects.
- People ahead or downhill of you have the right-of-way. You must avoid them.
- Stop only where you are visible from above and do not restrict traffic.
- Look uphill and avoid others before starting downhill or entering a trail.
- You must prevent runaway equipment.
- Read and obey all signs, warnings and hazard markings.
- Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
- You must know how and be able to load, ride and unload lifts safely. If you need assistance, ask the lift attendant.
- Do not use lifts or terrain when impaired by alcohol or drugs.
- If you are involved in a collision or incident, share your contact information with each other and a ski area employee.
Lift Safety
Be ready with all your gear, wait your turn, and sit back safely when loading. Lower the bar during the ride, follow all signage, and never jump from a stopped lift. When unloading, hold your gear, raise the bar in time, keep tips up, and clear the area promptly.
Mountain Policies
Skiing and riding are allowed across Crabbe Mountain property, as long as you exit and return via open trails and avoid closed ones. Restricted areas include snowmobile trails, power lines, the T-bar line, and woods at night.
Ski Patrol
Our trained Ski Patrol team—both paid and volunteer—helps keep the slopes safe all season. All patrollers are certified in first aid, CPR, and on-hill rescue. The main patrol clinic is at the top of Hume’s Flume.
